The A2 size is a commonly used paper size for posters and calendars. The size A2 reflects the size of a single sheet of paper.

There are different standards for the sizes of paper. A2 size is part of the A standard. The A standard is the international standard. The A standard is part of the “A”, “B” and “C” series of paper sizes of the ISO 216. The ISO 216 is the international standard for a sheet of paper. North America and parts of Central and South America use other paper sizes such as “Letter” and “Legal”.

## Proportions of the A2 size compared to other sizes.

An A2 has a surface area of 420 x 594 millimetres. In inches, this is 16.535 x 23.386 inches.

With the A series of paper sizes, the next size is twice as large or small. The ratio of the A-standard between the long and short side is 2:1. If you fold a sheet of paper horizontally into two equal pieces, two pieces with the same ratio are created. An A2 is half the size of an A1. When you fold an A2, you have twice an A3.
